Hewlett-Packard makes webOS mobile software public

I stumbled upon an article about Hewlett-Packard, a company in which is changing its business strategy due to its lack in market revenue as well as other complications. The reason for my interest in this companies success happens to be because my father works for one of the specific departments. The company’s initial technology plans with webOS and tablets based on the platform did not work as hoped. This has caused the action to make webOs a mobile operating system to become available to the open-source community. Similar to the linux platform. Developers would now be able to tinker and change the operating system free of charge in order to increase the availability as well as cost. This business profiting action could very well result in a successful revenue coming into the third quarters. Phone operating systems are on of the many more to follow an open sourced system. Only time will show the success!

An article i recently read talked about this site WordPress.com which has apparently implemented a Professional Sports News Site which makes the creation of a look alike web page incredibly easy. One of the awesome abilities software and the web has allowed us is for users with the lowest amount of knowledge in a certain area to contribute to their own similar web page. Software these days are slowly becoming more and more user friendly, which only improves the options people have for developing amazing sites for whatever genre of your choosing. This is used for professional sports, however the options are only starting to become available to the average user.

Censorship Changes The Media We Are Grateful For Completely

One article posted onĀ  yahoo news that I thought was not necessarily interesting but more so completely different compared to the freedom in our lives. The article relates to censorship because Beijing demands the registration of all names for blog posters. To me the obvious implications of this action is so Beijing and government officials have more information on potential negative content towards China. This country of course has its own censorship through the internet, which has caused major debate with other companies for instance Google. However, this article shows a mere shadow of censorship. Because of the types of restrictions put on the internet surfing the web would be completely different with specific information only being fed. One of the most important roles the internet plays is in its way for users to access endless amounts of information. The freedom on this information is so important to creating and developing your own opinions. How do you think censorship would change your life? Living under those circumstances would be completely different.

Google X. Talking About The Future Now!

An article on ReadWriteWeb that I have recently read goes over a somewhat secret lab created by Google called Google X. Reason for such an interesting name is because the lab is filled with future technology ideass as well as devices that may or may not be implemented in our world in the future. The unbelievable lab was created by Google to start exploring these different types of possible technology in the future. Guaranteed we will see many of this different devices someday in the near future. Hopefully in our lifetime.

Certain Tools That Make Our Lives Simpler. Is This A Good Thing?

One article I have recently found talks about an AP Stylebook’s New Tool which automatically edits writing content. One of the main reasons why i emphasize this article is how it can make certain publisher’s lives much easier because they can partly rely on certain software like this. However I am questioning the software itself as I feel like the impact of certain software like this belittle the average person’s writing skills. For instance if this correcting software is available to students their grasp of English will be hindered. Its something to think about!

Deaf women hears her own voice. Technology can impact so many lives!

I watched an incredible viral video which showed a deaf women’s reaction to hearing her own voice. This video showed this deaf women reacting to this absolutely amazing technology which allowed her to hear for the first time. When the women turned on the earpiece technology you instantly felt impacted by the women’s ecstatic reaction which brought so many tears to her eyes. This was an incredible moment that was put on the internet to show how certain technologies can change someones life. Because of IMS technology I was able to be in that moment she was using the internet. In this case, this women was able to do something she never expected to do for the rest of her life. She was able to hear, something which was so amazing she teared up as a result of this technology which allowed this. I find our technology to constantly expand and improve. As the years continue I have no doubt that being deaf will become obsolete.

Can Google Plus catch up to Facebooks amount of Users?

I recently found an article about Google Plus which is focusing a lot of attention on the social media aspects. After pulling the plug of buzz, they are trying to develop a greater audience to use the new social network. As of now Facebook has 800 million users while Google plus has a mere 40 million users. Even though the popularity of the new social network was attained in 4 months, Facebook is still most likely to stay in the lead. The only benefit factor to using Google plus is its implemented gmail, youtube and other resources which will make the social media more user friendly. This is going to be very interesting whether Google Plus can sustain an amount of users that will continue to use its network. Unless Google Plus receives a lot of publicity from celebrities, or if there is a movie developed about its creation, i doubt Google Plus will reach the heights Facebook has.
